PROJECTS

From suburban ranch homes to rural farms to commercial jobs in town, I have found that while the situations, solutions and strategies change, some things remain constant; persistence, regular communication and follow-through are the keys to making it happen.
McCall Dairy Ranch
Petaluma, CA.

"Peter, your system is unbelievable!  We just got our PG&E bill and it was $4.00.  We were amazed and then laughing and wondering what we were doing before, paying, like, $250!  'What were we thinking?' we said to ourselves.  Thank you so much"  Karen's story is typical for clients that purchase.  They figured it out swiftly, reacted to the options, and couldn't be happier, laughing at PG&E, laughing to themselves, happy with everything clients.

Horse Around Ranch
Sunol, CA.

Randy couldn't be happier with his solar PV system.  "I had only one question after the installation.  I just called in and he answered the phone right away, and then answered my question right away.  The whole thing is working great.  We never talked about the communication portal where I can view my system's output - that was the biggest surprise and didn't know what to expect at all... I really like it!  It's all working great."

Jeff P. Residence
Walnut Creek, CA.

Jeff's home in Walnut Creek is adjacent to a natural area.  Aesthetics is always important, and in this home it was critical.  Here, no panels are visable from the street and yet they are meeting their power production goals with a delicate visual touch.  "It just came out perfect!  Peter found the roof space and made the whole thing work.  His knowledge of the different financing available allowed us to make the best decision, a real financial plan, with our energy costs.   We really liked working with Peter on our project."  Jeff P.  Walnut Creek.

Haddad Residence
Sonoma Valley, CA.

Tricky installation at the Haddad residence, a lakeside estate in Sobre Vista.  There was a 200 yard distance to the old electrical service which needed an upgrade.  The surrounding property was all landscaped, so keeping the nature of the place intact was critical, while meeting the energy production goals of the clients.  "Everything was done perfectly," said Basil!

Kent S.'s Palace
Mill Valley, CA.

Spectaular hillside home designed by the client, a labor of love with a view of the bay to die for, this job most exemplifies the care and technique of trained installers.  When it had to be right, our crew responded with delicacy and integrity, ensuring the client was beaming.

"With my home, it wasn't just the dollars that mattered.  Perched on a knoll high on Mt. Tamalpias, the job was a challenge.  When I reroofed a few years ago, they had to use a glaring white foam, and what I didn't expect was that the solar would cover it up from most views above me.  In that way, I couldn't be happier with the outcome.  Peter was swift, responsive and created a design that plumeted my electric bills to an average of $12.00 - exactly what Peter had predicted.  I highly recommend Peter."

This is the kind of job that it seems other run from that we relish.  Thank you Ken.

Manjeet's Residence
Woodland, CA.

This job was a time consuming affair, with a 3.5 month lag time right in the middle between when the job was initially started to when the job was completed.  The Sanghera's were travelling oversees and couldn't be reached about their solar project.  Upon their return, I went to see them and the job picked right back up.

"Thank you so much Peter.  You are incredible!" is how they describe the process.

Donna H.'s  House
Santa Rosa, CA.

Donna's home is tucked into a nice quiet neighborhood in Santa Rosa.  She didn't want her panels visible from the street, so I created a "reverse rack" on this job on the back side of her house.  On the rails in the picture to the right, you can see the Enphase Micro-Inverters lined up.

To the left, it's the big moment, Donna flipping the power switch after getting her Permission To Operate from PG&E.  "Goodbye high bills forever more!"

Joseph U.'s Farm House
Sonoma, CA.

Joseph's home is a large ranch in Sonoma Valley.  He lives a very independent life, with his own well and windmill he built by himself.  Being independent was important to Joseph.  What he didn't expect was our service.  He was really ready to go, and just wanted everything done swiftly and smoothly.  That's what we heard and that is what we did.  Joseph's system was up on his roof within 3 weeks of him signing up!

"You guys were unvelievable.  I didn't think it would be done so well, and so fast, and so easily!  I still can't believe it."

Barbara R. Residence
San Ramon, CA.

An HOA & PG&E nightmare, but finally, after months and months of delays, we were able to get the neighbors signed off and the approval, all the while keeping Barbara infomed about the process.  Then, once it was all done and it was time for PG&E's final inspection, they demanded an engineering study for the main panel - a major "after the fact" snafu!  Few instalations go as rough as this one.  The work around was a small redisgn after the instal to keep PG&E at bay.

Barbara couldn't have been more patient while we worked on her behalf.  This installation was the kind of job that some folks would complain about if they weren't focued on the finish line.  The wait was worth it though, as the system is working beautifully, performing right up to expectations and looks great.

Mike M's Chateau
Los Altos Hills, CA.

Mike was going through a whole house remodle the day I showed up.  Boxes were everywhere, and the construction team was in every corner of the house doing something.  We cleared away a spot on his table and got to work.  When we had finished, we had a system designed with just a vague image of how it would look.

The house is simply stunning and his bills are down to the bare minimum.  A team effort all the way!

Kenny's Ranch
Windsor, CA.

This working ranch and vineyard in Windsor had very high bills.  The owners had other challenges too, as they were thinking of selling within a few years.  They chose to purchase and finance, lowering their bills significantly but allowing for an easy transfer later, which occured about a year after they went solar.

Now, Kenny has become one of my best sources for referrals, regularly calling with new leads from his circle of family and friends.  All the while, the new owners have the benefit of a great, new, rockin' solar power system on their new property.

Half Moon Bay, CA.

Peggy's place is a rental in the steep hills and canyons above Half Moon Bay.  The home spectacularly sits as a natural beacon in a place of wonder.  Any solar would have to fit into the surrounding

Peggy wanted to arrange the power for her tenants.  They all wanted to go solar, the key was finding the right path.  After exploring all of the options, Peggy chose to purchase her system, adding value to the house as a rental and in her equity.  Smart choice!

Ken P.'s Life On The River
Monte Rio, CA.

There is a small spec of land along the flats of the Russian River.  On that flat, a few houses receive full sunlight.  On that flat of land the blues sky fills that background of Ken's place.

Ken's goal was to lower his payments to PG&E.  He'd had enough.  As we talked it over, he realized that he didn't want a long contract nor a lot of debt.  Like many of my clients, when they weigh all the options, Ken chose his path according to his own wisdom and desires.

The solar panels sit behind the home, completely invisible from the street.  Only Ken knows it's there.  Only Ken and you and I.

Ralph & Glenda's Place
Campbell, CA.

Ralph wanted to pull the switch, but he was a little nervous.  I told him I'd do it if he wanted me too.   Glenda stepped back, not that she didn't want to be in the picture, but I think she felt a slight twinge that folks get when they are doing something out of the ordinary, so yeah, she stepped back.  "Nope," Ralph said.  "I want to do it."

The master A/C disconnect for the solar is a large switch.  The handle is about 6 inches long and it has some tension to it.  You have to give it a good push to get it up.  You'll get to push yours up, the day you get your Permission To Operate, like Ralph and Glenda on this day.

Billy L's House
Petaluma, CA.

Possibly one of my favorite installs of all time.  Bill was in a tough spot, high bills and a lot of trouble in his life the day I showed up.  There was nothing to be done that first day, but I kept at it and kept at it and finally one day, after 8 months of visit after visit, phone call after phone call, reassurance one after another, the job got installed and the new service panel went in and the light turned green.

One thing that will be a long time remembering for me was the look on Bill's face the day that system got turned on.  The wonderment, the excitement, the joy that something worked and worked right, just the way I said it would.  Yeah, one of my favorite jobs of all time.

Anna P's Rental
Santa Rosa, CA.

A referral from a friend (listed above) sent me off to meet Anna P.  She has a rental that she wanted to move into, and yet her original house had solar.  She didn't really like the deal she got from a small local back-of-the-truck guys on her original house and in talking to her friend, she found me.

Here' we coordinated with her roofing contractors and also installed a new service panel for her electrical to get her up and running on solar.  Everything worked out perfectly.  It was tight, but we got her installed in less than 5 weeks at the end of the year, right between rain storms, so she could keep her tax credit for the fiscal year.

Nick M's Bungalo  "... We love our house now, Peter!"
Santa Rosa, CA.

One of the first full Zero Net Energy houses I produced, this job had broken asbestos-wrapped ducts, mold in the bathroom, a dark living room that needed light, and such high power costs they wore 3 layers indoors all winter.

I fixed it all, starting with removing the asbestos, replacing the ducts, air sealing the attic, blowing in 15" of insulation, adding a bathroom fixture and fan, double pane low-e windows in the living room, a car charger, new electrical service panel, underfloor sealing and insulation, door sealing and a small solar PV system.  Nick got the full rebate amount, the tax credit, and I helped with the financing, too.

Lissa M's New Place
Santa Rosa, CA.

Lissa found me again from YELP (https://www.yelp.com/biz/peter-posert-energy-consultant-petaluma-2) and sent me a note though the contact page of this web site.  Our kids went to school together a decade ago in another city.  What a joy to reconnect!  I won the bid competitively, she got a great price, the job went up flawlessly and it looks great at her place, too.

When everything just goes right and smoothly, like on this job and most others, it's just a joy to help folks drop their bill and become independent.  That's the case here.  Lissa's job is just one of dozens, but typical of how things can just work right the first time when you know what you're doing.

Heather S.'s House  "Our true up was $1.68!!!"
Napa, CA.

Possibly my favorite job of all time.  It took about 5 months to complete this job, because of the best delay any one has ever asked me about...

Heather asked me how I would finance a solar job.I told her how I would do it, and you know what, Heather listened.

Yep, it took Heather a few months to line the job up, but was it worth it?  If you reach out to me, I'll line you up with a call to Heather and you can ask her yourself.  Absolutely yes.

Heather's 'true up' bill - her total cost of power with the utility, was $1.68 --- FOR THE YEAR!
